Bill Chamblee and Annik Morgan recently concluded the defense of a doctor in a medical malpractice case in Tarrant County. Bill and Annik represented a gynecologist oncologist in a lawsuit wherein plaintiff alleged negligence in the repair of a bowel injury following a total abdominal hysterectomy and removal of a mass off of the colon. Plaintiff’s experts included a general surgeon and a pathologist; defense experts included a gynecologist/oncologist, a general surgeon, and a colorectal surgeon. Plaintiff’s counsel requested right at $1 million from the jury. The jury returned a 12-0 unanimous defense verdict for the defendant. Truth is what prevailed.
