Partner, Reagan Boyce obtains unanimous defense verdict on behalf of an orthopedic surgeon. Plaintiff alleged that a Velcro strap elbow brace applied post-operative for a biceps tendon repair surgery caused nerve injury due to too tight application, and as a result plaintiff developed complex regional pain syndrome. The defense argued that the Plaintiff had obvious signs of nerve injury from the underlying accident and that Plaintiff had already exhibited symptoms of developing complex regional pain syndrome before the brace was applied. The jury exercised its common sense and returned a unanimous defense verdict in less than two hours.
