William H. Chamblee, Caleena D. Svatek, and Dana Morgan from Cooper & Scully obtained a unanimous jury verdict in a medical malpractice suit in Titus County, Texas. Plaintiffs contended Defendant was negligent in failing to diagnose appendicitis in a 15-year-old boy with progressive Duchene muscular dystrophy. The patient suffered complications from the appendectomy as well as complications from his disease. Despite efforts to medically manage the patient, he passed away. At the close of all evidence in a two-week trial, the jury returned an unanimous defense verdict after 15 minutes of deliberations.
