Caleena Svatek obtained a unanimous jury verdict in Bowie County, Texas in a veterinary malpractice suit. Plaintiff contended Defendant was negligent in performing a spay procedure on her pet, ultimately leading to the pet’s death. Plaintiff sought to recover the value of the animal. Defendant showed informed consent, notice of the risks, and that the procedure was performed within the standard of care. After 20 minutes of deliberations, the jury returned a unanimous defense verdict holding the Defendant not liable.
