Chamblee Ryan founder Bill Chamblee, assisted by senior associate Peyton Inge, obtained a complete defense verdict in a suit brought by a former police chief in the County. The former chief alleged that the client’s tractor-trailer failed to yield the right-of-way and struck him as he responded to an emergency call at 1 a.m. The chief was CareFlighted to a Fort Worth hospital where he underwent multiple surgeries to address significant injuries. Plaintiffs sought $3.5 million at trial.
After a week-and-a-half jury trial, the jury deliberated less than 10 minutes before returning a unanimous verdict of no liability.
