Overview

Ryan is a Senior Associate at Chamblee Ryan whose practice focuses on civil litigation across a wide range of areas, including personal injury, medical and dental malpractice, trucking and transportation, premises liability, and professional malpractice.

Ryan has experience representing individuals, healthcare providers, trucking companies, and national retailers through trial and appeal. He has secured dismissals, summary judgments, and favorable settlements in complex personal injury and wrongful death matters.

Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Ryan graduated from Texas Tech University in 2014, completing his undergraduate degree in three years. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2018. While at OU, Ryan studied abroad at the University of Oxford in England, was a member of the Arbitration Team, and interned with the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office. He also received the Pro Bono Service Award.

Ryan lives in San Antonio with his wife, Hayley, their son, and their dog, Remi. In his free time, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, and playing golf.

Experience

Secured dismissal of a wrongful death lawsuit against a residential treatment facility after successfully establishing that the facility qualified as a healthcare provider, rendering the claims healthcare liability claims requiring an expert report; dismissal was affirmed by the Fourth Court of Appeals.

Obtained mandamus relief from the appellate court vacating a trial court order improperly compelling discovery of a physician’s net worth in a healthcare liability lawsuit.

Obtained dismissals of numerous complaints before the Texas Medical Board and Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.

Represented physicians in credentialing and peer review matters, successfully preserving hospital privileges and professional standing

Defended a national retailer in a lawsuit arising from allegations that an employee shot a suspected shoplifter, resulting in significantly reduced damages at trial.

Defended a national retailer in a multimillion-dollar wrongful death lawsuit that favorably settled during jury selection.

Secured several summary judgments in multiple premises liability cases on behalf of a national retailer.
