Legal Secretary: Brenda Frey
Overview
John Danenberger is a Senior Associate at Chamblee Ryan, who has built his law career around emergent issues in transportation, from serving as the corporate Law Department lead on Auto Policy Forms for the nation’s largest carrier to joining our firm’s commercial transportation, shipping, and rapid response team. While at State Farm, John led the legal review of the company’s auto policy rewrite, introduced innovative endorsements such as the Transportation Network Company product and the Personal Mobility Policy, and handled all legal issues stemming from the carrier’s partnership with Lyft. Over the past decade, John has become a transportation industry leader who is invited to present at insurance defense conferences, collaborate with agency counterparts, and testify at state subcommittee hearings on autonomous vehicles, e-scooters/bikes, and last mile delivery.
John started his law career at a boutique Intellectual Property firm in Chicago, before accepting a commission with the U.S. Army JAG Corps, where he served as Trial Attorney in Texas and as Chief of European Tort Claims in Germany. He carries a license to practice law in both Illinois and Texas, and plans to put both to use in his new role at Chamblee Ryan. Currently, John lives in Bloomington, Illinois, where he is joined by his rockstar architect wife, their two children, and two crime-fighting cats, Sherlock and Watson.
In his free time, John enjoys tinkering on his beloved 1974 MGB roadster, spinning records, playing piano, traveling and gardening.
